We’re looking for a Director to join our small, agile but ambitious team. You’ll bring curiosity, adaptability and entrepreneurial spirit, alongside the experience to drive commercial growth and deliver outstanding work directly with clients. You’ll be as comfortable setting strategy as you are getting hands-on with delivery, and you’ll enjoy the variety that comes with building something new.

As a Director at Firefish Data, you’ll be accountable for both shaping the future of the business and delivering outstanding work today. You'll drive growth, set standards and lead key client relationships. You will be responsible for strategic delivery, commercial performance and team development across a group of accounts. You will also be a key contributor to agency direction, offer and reputation. You are expected to deliver leadership and know the commercial goals and performance and brand and business strategy – as well as executing and ensuring that the team is delivering on it at all times. You are ultimately responsible for the successful delivery of all the accounts you oversee, as well as client loyalty and repeat business.
- Own and grow client partnerships, inspiring confidence and spotting opportunities to add value.
- Take a leading role in business development, from pitching through to building long-term client accounts.
- Lead programmes of work and present with confidence to senior and C-suite stakeholders;
- Negotiate scope and fees to protect profitability without compromising trust.
- Oversee the design and delivery of impactful data solutions.
- Drive integration of data, cultural insight, and behavioural science into outputs.
- Balance setting direction with rolling up your sleeves, ensuring high standards, scalability and measurable impact for clients.
- Drive the evolution of Firefish Data’s tools, approaches and ways of working. Champion experimentation, bringing in new ideas and embedding innovation into how we deliver.
- Work seamlessly across a small team, stepping in wherever needed.
- Respond with clarity and authority when challenges arise, creating solutions and ensuring delivery stays on track.
- Foster a positive, high-performance culture by leading through action.
- Actively shape Firefish Data’s culture of curiosity, collaboration and ownership. Represent the business internally and externally, contributing to thought leadership and positioning Firefish Data as a trusted, human-centred partner.
- Strategic Insight & Storytelling : You have the ability to turn data, cultural signals, and behavioural science into compelling, actionable narratives.
- Methodological Expertise: Proven expertise in quant research design, data and analytics and applying advanced quant methods to client challenges
- Commercial Acumen: You have a track record of delivering revenue, managing margins, negotiating fees, and protecting profitability.
- Proposal & Pitch Leadership: You have confidence in leading high-stake proposals and converting opportunities.
- Client Impact Delivery: You are experienced at running multi-strand programmes of work, ensuring outputs are both strategically sharp and practically valuable.
- Operational Discipline : You have the ability to spot efficiencies, streamline processes, and manage workload across multiple projects.
- Presentation & Gravitas: You are skilled at engaging and influencing senior/C-suite audiences.
